Yves was born in Fribourg, Switzerland. He received the Ing. HES (B.Sc.) degree in telecommunications from the University of Applied Sciences Fribourg, Switzerland in 2001. In 2005, he received the Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada for his thesis on compensating susceptibility difference artifacts produced by metallic implants in magnetic resonance imaging.
Currently he is a PhD student in Electrical Engineering at University of Calgary, working on medical image processing algorithms and numerical methods under the supervision of Dr Steven Boyd and Dr Ed Vigmond in the Bone Imaging Lab. His Research interests include signal and image processing, image registration, image analysis.
Besides work, he likes snowboarding, coaching track and field and doing sports in general.
