Vincent was born in Vevey, Switzerland in 1977. He studied at the Swiss Institute of Technology, Lausanne, where he received his MSc in Engineering Physics in 2002. In 2003, he participated in a Bioengineering Program at the University of Lausanne and spent 4 months at the University of California, Davis, in Prof. Scholey’s lab for his Master thesis, where he modeled mitosis in a drosophila embryo.

Vincent returned to Lausanne, Switzerland, and taught Physics and Mathematics in a high school for one year before he started his PhD program in Prof Pioletti’s lab in Bioengineering, at the Swiss Institute of Technology. His research topic was the local effects of bisphosphonate on implant integration. Vincent earned his PhD in 2008, and was hired as a postdoctoral fellow at the Novartis Institute of Biomedical Research, Basel, Switzerland, where he worked on experimental biomechanics for Dr Gasser.
Vincent is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Dr Boyd’s Bone Imaging Lab, at the University of Calgary. He is receiving a fellowship from the Swiss National Science Foundation and from the AHFMR. His main interest is the changes in bone structure at the surface of a load bearing orthopedic implant. By understanding the bone-implant contact evolutions, he believes it will be possible to improve the implant outcome on a longer-term basis.
In his free time, Vincent loves to explore the mountains with his wife Salima, on their bikes, snowboards or skis... Or simply listening to music at home and having dinner prepared with love!
