Ross was born in Prince George, BC and has a BSc in Molecular Genetics from the University of Alberta. He joined the Uludag Lab in 2009 as a master’s student in the U of A Biomedical Engineering Department. Previously, he worked as an NSERC summer student and technician in the departments of Genetics, Cell Biology and Medical Genetics working on Drosophila embryogenesis, mammalian mitochondria protein trafficking, and the molecular causes of Neurofibromatosis type II, respectively. Currently, Ross is involved in investigating gene and protein-based approaches for inducing osteogenesis ex vivo and in vivo and is partially funded by a CIHR-SRMT Trainee Award. He has a keen interest in adult mesenchymal and induced pluripotent stem cells and their utility in regenerative medicine. When he isn’t at the bench, Ross is an avid runner, skier, painter, and amateur barista.
