Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Helen was raised in Toronto, Ontario.  She received her BSc.H, specializing in biology, from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario in May 2008.  During her undergraduate studies, she attended a one-year exchange to the University of Edinburgh, in Edinburgh, Scotland.  Helen recently began her Master’s program in Cell and Developmental Biology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, under the supervision of T. Michael Underhill.  When not working in the lab, Helen enjoys running, soccer, snowboarding, and exploring the mountains and beaches in Vancouver.
